Welcome to Live and Loud, where I bring you along on my auditory and visual journeys as a local musician entrenched in the South Florida heavy rock and metal music scene. Everything penned here reflects my unabashed, personal opinions—whether it’s about friends, fellow bandmates, or local acts we all know. Remember, these reflections are rooted in my personal tastes and experiences. Ultimately, we all contribute uniquely to our scene. Consider this blog my personal sounding board, offering you a window into the life of someone who plays and interacts within our dankass local scene.

The Day Starts Off… Interesting

Awesome start today! Sarcasm. I was hanging out with my family, waiting for Jaz to pick me up for our trip to West Palm Beach. Jaz arrives, and we notice his Ford Fusion’s tire light is on. Turns out, his tire is at 11 psi. After a quick check, we realize it’s leaking heavily. We scramble to get new tires—after a couple of failed attempts, Tire Kingdom hooks us up.

Getting to Propaganda

After a few hours and a Starbucks stop, we finally make it to the venue, Propaganda. There’s a dude with a cone saving a spot for loading. Perfect! We unload right away, and Jaz and I are the first ones in. We grab a prime spot for the merch table and start getting set up.

LeatherWhip Takes the Stage

The first band up is LeatherWhip… and what a trainwreck. They’re rocking the full 80s bad guitarist look—no shirt, leather hats, spikes, you name it. Their set? All over the place. The audience heckles, shouting things like, “Where’s the reverb?” and “You should’ve practiced.” Brutal. This was pretty cringe, I felt bad, so I offered some advice to one of them afterward—gotta keep the community strong, right?

Ghosts of War Bring the Energy

Next, Ghosts of War hit the stage with a Black Sabbath cover, followed by some Slayer tributes, mixed in with Beavis and Butthead samples. They nailed the solos and got a pit going, which helped bring the crowd back to life.

Snake Healer Steps Up

Then it was our turn. We probably overdid it with the fog machine again, but hey, the sound was banging, and the crowd loved it. A short but sweet night with only three bands.

Wrapping It Up

Not too many pictures this time, but if I find a video, I’ll be sure to post it. Until next time, keep it loud!
